Dan Reed

I’m passionate about quality. I design, do file retrieval, make custom crates, setup files in Photoshop, fill in where ever I am needed; Everything and anything. I have a lifelong love of design and music. I play guitar and write songs. I’m married and part owner of Reed Art & Imaging.

I love what I do here at Reed. Over the years I’ve washed dishes, changed tires, picked up trash, driven trucks, buses and done custom framing. At Reed I operate the computerized milling machine that we use to make our Gallery Mount Collection. Being so versatile in my abilities, I can also help out where ever else I’m needed and often do. I’m a Colorado native and an avid sports fan. Go Broncos! On the weekends I am free to do whatever I want, and I spend them with my dog and/or fishing.

Like my brother, David Arguello, I have had a verity of different jobs, from warehouse manager to shipping and receiving, and custom framer. We both came to work at Reed in February of 2007, where I work in production. Framing, canvas stretching, building and assembling our Gallery Mount Collection and helping out where ever else I’m needed. I love sports, GO BRONCOS! In my free time I’m the team manager for my son’s football team. I fish, camp and spend as much time as possible with my wife and three beautiful children.

I was born and raised in Madison Wisconsin and in the early 90’s moved to Colorado. After graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in Natural Resource Management, I spent some time bouncing around mountain towns basically living the ski-bum life. In the summers. I worked primarily as a raft guide and as a snowboard instructor in the winters. After a few years I moved back to Fort Collins and took a “real” job as a License Agent and Fisheries Technician with the Colorado Division of Wildlife. After six years with the state I began fixing and flipping houses. In 2010 my wife and I moved to Denver and I worked for several years as an independent contractor.
At an early age I learned carpentry and construction skills and am once again putting them to use here at Reed. I build and pack carefully designed custom crates to properly protect the larger pieces, a task I find challenging and rewarding. I welcome any opportunity to operate our CNC machine. The thing I love most about working at Reed is being surrounded by Fine Art every day. While I don’t consider myself much of a visual artist, my art form of choice is music. I play guitar, bass guitar, and mandolin in a few different bands in the Denver area. I believe that the arts, from photography and painting to music and literature, has the unique ability to open the mind and elevate the spirit.

A transplant from Wisconsin, I moved to Denver a year after graduating with my degree in photography from the University of Northern Michigan. In the process of trying to find my niche, I photographed just about everything. Whether it be sports, portraits, weddings, landscapes, journalism or fine art I have dipped my toe in to some extent. Such diversity in my work allows me to share artistic perspectives with nearly all of our high-end clients.
Seeking a new adventure, I moved to Colorado and was referred to Reed for any reproduction needs. Luckily, my need for a job was timed with Reed’s need for someone with my critical skills and have been here ever since. My primary focus in production revolves around precision cutting of materials and finishing details. With experience in framing, wood working and CNC I am eager to dig-in wherever my talents can benefit the end result.
