We are dedicated to quality.
Quality film processing is absolutely essential to the final product. Our dedication to professional film processing goes back to our beginnings. Reed Photo-Imaging was founded on processing E-6 and C-41 films. Using the first "Refrema 307" in the state of Colorado, our experts provide outstanding service & quality. The best film processing equipment available, the Refrema brand of processors, has established a world-wide reputation for quality and stability. The Refrema 307 "Olympic", named for it's trusted use at the international sporting events, is the big brother to our Refrema Compact C-41 and BW processor. These Processors use "Dip and Dunk" mechanics to safely and gently transport your E-6 or C-41 film to each of the precisely tempered developing chemical baths. Specially designed frames called "Film Hangers" hold your film by only the edges, assuring the live image area comes in contact with nothing other than the film developing chemical baths. This virtually eliminates the possibility of processor related damage to your original film. Some styles of film processors use hundreds of rollers, that are constantly in contact with your fragile film emulsion, to pull your film from tank to tank. Imagine the potential damage from one stuck roller or one piece of grit, carving it's way down the length of your film. Not a pretty sight.

Certified Film Processing
We proudly maintain one of the most stringent process control systems in the country. We process control strips hourly, and plot the results immediately. Our quality control procedures are so well regarded, Kodak chose us to be the first facility in the Rocky Mountain Region to participate their elite Q-Lab quality control film developing program. Q-lab qualifying sites must conform to tolerances that are twice as tight as the typical lab, virtually guaranteeing you great color, contrast, density and consistency. This means less waste and less testing for you from shoot to shoot. And you know that relates to profits. Our professionals take the time to evaluate each sheet or roll of film that comes out of our processors, thus ensuring you get the highest quality on the most consistent basis possible. Our standard film developing run time is 9am with a two hour turn time for E-6 and C-41 and a 3 hour turn for B&W. We also stock small inventories of professional Fuji film. |
Cross-Processing - E6 Slide Film & C41 Color Negative Film
Cross-Processing (developing slide film in the negative chemistry or visa-versa) is available at Reed Photo-Imaging. We offer both types of cross process, C-41 in E-6 and E-6 in C-41. When processing C-41 films in E-6 chemistry, we suggest a starting point exposure of +2 stops over with a normal process. You may also expose your film normally and process with a +2 stop push for added contrast. When processing E-6 Transparency films through the C-41 chemistry, a good starting point is a normal exposure and normal processing. Greater than normal exposures lead to higher film density and the potential for increased "blooming". Push processing leads to higher contrast, greater film density, and stronger color shifts. In all cases we recommend testing your exposure/process combinations before committing your final images to film. |
Black and White Film Developing
Consistent quality, that's our motto for B&W film processing. From 35mm up to 8" x 10", we can process and contact your best B&W images. We use a Refrema "Dip and Dunk" system and our standard developer is Kodak's replenished XTOL developer system. Push and Pull services are also available
